Created for the Patternmaking and Construction II course, 001 is a bold, futuristic ensemble inspired by archival research conducted at Columbia College Chicago’s Fashion Study Collection. The final look features a kimono-sleeved, five-button top paired with wide-leg trousers, incorporating advanced patternmaking techniques such as darts, slashes, and structural modifications. The project progressed through comprehensive stages including concept development, research, muslin prototyping, and final garment construction, demonstrating both technical precision and innovative design thinking. This project strengthened my technical patternmaking expertise and exposed me to the influence of archival research on contemporary garment design.
